Hypatia was the greatest mathematician and astronomer of her time, for being the leader of the Neoplatonist school of philosophy in Alexandria, for spectacularly overcoming the profound sexism of her society, and for suffering a violent death at the hands of ignorant zealots.
We are thankful to those women who made an change in history and who suffered and fought discrimination towards their sex. Fortunately, women do not have to prove they are smart these days, but there are still some rights to become true. Our students will surely work on this to happen. We had so much fun when doing our Scavenger Hunt around the school hallways. Rush, laughter and hidden runs filled our March 8 this school year.
So pleased when both learning and fun meet
